| Incredibly cool car rentals
America might have invented “car culture," but there's a strong case to be made for lusting after European luxury. And while possession may seem the obvious goal, the duration of that possession is always relative. So ask yourself which is better: owning a Maserati you can never drive? Or driving a Maserati you could never own? More and more car aficionados are exercising the latter option, through rental agencies that specialize in luxury auto and high-end driving clubs. Across the country and abroad, fleets of the newest, sweetest rides—Ferraris, Aston Martins, Audis, Lamborghinis—are available for all, at a price—without the hassles of garaging, maintenance and repair. Exotic car rentals are often the first step, followed by car clubs. In these automotive versions of the members-only country club, well-heeled car enthusiasts pony up initial membership payment, and then annual dues—in exchange for the keys to a cadre of top-end vehicles.

Killer to serve at least 38 years
A man has been ordered to serve at least 38 years for the sadistic murder of a family-of-three who were bludgeoned to death with a hammer. Pierre Williams, 33, of Selly Oak, Birmingham, was given three life sentences for killing former girlfriend Beverley Samuels, 36, her daughter Kesha Wizzart, 18, and son Fred Wizzart, 13, at their home in Manchester on July 12 last year. Judge Mr Justice Christopher Pitchford said: "Pierre Williams is a man with a low threshold for sexual frustration. "Just as he had in the past with a previous girlfriend, he took out his frustration by treating Beverley and her daughter with gross sexual aggression. "Only he can know what terror and pain he inflicted upon them before they died." The family were beaten to death with a 2lb engineer's hammer and Mrs Samuels and Kesha - a former Young Stars In Their Eyes contestant - were sexually assaulted.
Woman testifies against ex-Peru military officers about massacre
It happened in the midst of a civil war in Peru between the government and the Shining Path guerrilla group. The suit was filed under the U.S. Alien Tort Statute and Torture Victim Protection Act, which allows non-U.S. citizens to bring to courts cases of international law violations if the accused lives or has assets in the United States. Hurtado came to the U.S. in 2002 and recently served a six-month sentence in a Miami federal prison for lying to U.S. officials to obtain a visa. He remains in federal custody pending deportation proceedings.

Friend, Husband Testify In Love Triangle Trial
Nelson's best friend, Michelle Moore, accepted a deal Tuesday that calls for her to testify and to plead guilty to being an accessory to a crime. In exchange, prosecutors dropped more serious charges. They say she helped plan the slaying. Moore testified she and Nelson left nails on the murder victim's driveway and vandalized her car. But when Heather Garraus and her husband decided to patch up their marriage, Nelson was furious."She had said that she wanted to get rid of her," Moore testified. "She had said that she could just drive down to the credit union where she worked and she could just shoot her."Moore said she thought it was just talk, even Nelson's comments the night before the murder."She just had to get rid of her," Moore said. "She had to do it. That she was in Hell and she didn't want to live like this anymore."Moore said that Nelson told her that if she got a phone call the next day saying she was taking a bath, then Moore would know she did it.
