| Hip-Hop Rumors: Diddy's New Pleasure, Superhead's Return?, Mary ...
So, Diddy has a nice lil' roster on the female side of life, but what about the guys? I'm sure he's got dude on Bad Boy, but I just don't know who they are. Well, I am hearing a good one about a guy we all like. Pretty Ricky's former lead singer Pleasure P is still a free agent and I heard Team Bad Boy might be picking him up. Now, I don't claim that I know P.P.'s work, but this guy is the only guy from Pretty Ricky who I heard of. No, disrespect, but I don't listen to the group. Anyway, P.P. might be the right addition to Bad Boy. He's like the complete opposite of Janelle Monae in every way. SUPERHEAD AT BET!? One of my buddies was there at BET yesterday with her man, because he was DJing at Rap City. Anyway, a well-known rapper was there, because he was shooting a commercial for Black History Month.
The election day turnout surpassed expectations
But there has to be no spinning or crafting of words to declare the turnout of 4.2 million Texas voters as anything but a resounding win for the ballot box. On one night, Texans reversed what had been a depressing trend of anemic turnouts in past state elections. The outpouring of voters outdid all previous turnouts by a bunch. The word "record" hardly fits the flood of voters who engulfed ballot boxes from Dallas to Brownsville. The closest number on the Secretary of State's records was the 2.7 million who turned out in 1988. Some Houston precincts didn't close their doors until after 11 p.m. so lengthy was the line of voters waiting to cast their ballots. Some Corpus Christi voting precincts had turnouts more than 40 percent. The overall turnout in Corpus Christi was 33 percent, easily exceeding the 2004 primary turnout of 17.8 percent.

A Miami actor's great performance captured for posterity
When you see a [recorded] show in the archives or on TV, it doesn't begin to approach what happened in the theater. But it has power and meaning,'' Esparza says. ``It's Steve's work, our version of an important and really significant work.'' Certainly the Tony voters agreed when they named Company last season's best revival of a musical. Esparza lost the best-actor Tony to Curtains star David Hyde-Pierce but won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for his electrifying performance as a cool, disengaged charmer who finally embraces the exhilarating emotions of his climactic song, Being Alive. Part of what made Company on Broadway so memorable was director Doyle's approach to the show, one he also used in staging an earlier Broadway revival of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and in a number of productions at his home theater in England.
L.A.'s upscale downtown delayed
The downtown Los Angeles skyline is still dotted with construction cranes, but not as many as developers once promised. More than a third of the approximately 110 residential projects proposed for downtown -- including the 50-story Zen tower on 3rd and Hill streets, the Mill Street Lofts in the industrial district, the multitower Metropolis off the 110 Freeway and the conversion of the former Herald Examiner building -- have been delayed or put on hold amid the rocky real estate market. .

HD 128311 {planet+planet}, HD 160691 =3D mu Arae {planet+planet}, and HD 222404AB =3D gamma Cephei {planet+star}. In each case the companion is identified as such by assuming that the minimum mass is the actual mass. For the last target, a known stellar binary system, the companion orbit is stable only if coplanar with the AB binary orbit. FGS 11211 An Astrometric Calibration of Population II Distance Indicators In 2002 HST produced a highly precise parallax for RR Lyrae. That measurement resulted in an absolute magnitude, M{V}=3D 0.61+/-0.11, a useful result, judged by the over ten refereed citations each year since. It is, however, unsatisfactory to have the direct, parallax-based, distance scale of Population II variables based on a single star. We propose, therefore, to obtain the parallaxes of four additional RR Lyrae stars and two Population II Cepheids, or W Vir stars.
One Word: OIL
Haywood Jablowme from Canada writes: What a country Canada has become... The Russians are laying claim to Canadian soil and all we do is stand by and welcome them. What a joke. Hold on a sec here ... the North Pole is NOT Canadian territory. That's a misconception fueled by Canada Post's long-running 'Send a letter to Santa Claus' campaign, you know the one where you send a letter to 'Santa Claus, North Pole, HOH OHO' :) The North Pole is in international waters. Let's remember that. Also, those of you blaming the Liberals for this, and those of you blaming the Conservatives -- you're both wrong. This is a result of Canadian foreign and military policy since World War II, during which time we had 4 Conservative governments (Diefenbaker, Clark, Mulroney and Harper) and 5 Liberal governments (St.
Retail Auto Sales Are Sliding Toward a Decade Low
Auto makers are feeling more pain this month as demand for light vehicles continues to plummet toward decade-low levels, with many consumers holding off on big-ticket purchases. Retail auto sales, as measured by deliveries to consumers by dealers between the dates of Feb. 1 and Feb. 17, fell 16.37% compared with the Feb. 1 through Feb. 18 period a year ago. The numbers, released in a report distributed yesterday by consumer research firm J.D. Power & Associates, don't include fleet sales to firms and agencies, such as rental-car companies. Retail sales are considered the most accurate indicator of actual demand. Since late 2006, car buyers have been under increasing pressure as concerns over the economy, housing, fuel prices, and tighter access to credit escalate. Many analysts have predicted U.S.
New-look Yokomine primed for Japan LPGA opener
Yokomine, who has changed caddies regularly in the past, hired John Bennett--David Smail's caddy--for the first two events of the season. It is the first time Yokomine has worked with a non-Japanese caddy since the 2005 Japan Women's Open. U.S. LPGA Tour rookie Ueda also will play in Okinawa. The youngest-ever money title winner has already played three tournaments this year, including the SBS Open in Hawaii, where she finished tied for fifth. Hoping to pip Yokomine for the money title will be Shinobu Moromizato and Miho Koga. Moromizato, who won her first major title at last season's Japan Women's Open, worked on her strength during preseason, including doing 1,000 sit-ups a day. "I didn't spare much time for training last year because I played in some tournaments overseas.
